Human Rights Committee Chair: Opposition politicians are unenthusiastic of being UNM members

“They are forced to say that Saakashvili (jailed ex-president) is bad, and at the same time, they say that they like Saakashvili to win the hearts of Saakashvili’s supporters,” said Mikheil Sarjveladze, Chairman of the parliamentary Human Right Committee remarking on the political plans of Nika Gvaramia (politician and Director General of Mtavari Arkhi).

Sarjveladze believes that the opposition faces a dilemma and would hardly arrive at the common standpoint before elections.

“They are unenthusiastic of being members of the United National Movement but have no other way but to remain so. They face a dilemma and would hardly arrive at the common standpoint before elections. These attempts do not look serious,” he said.
