A helicopter rented from Belarus by Emergency Situations Management Service will arrive in Georgia today.
The helicopter MI-8 MTV is multifunctional and is envisaged for rendering medical aid and rapid reaction to fire and rescue situations.
The helicopter will be based in Tbilisi till October 1. The terms of renting may be extended if necessity.
The 891 800 GEL has been allocated for renting at the initial stage based on the government’s order.
The Georgian Emergency Situations Management Service does have its own helicopter. It uses the helicopter of Border Police of Ministry of Internal Affairs in case of need.
