Heiko Maas – Bridge we want to build with Georgia is European Bridge
The bridge, which we want to build with Georgia, is European Bridge – Heiko Maas, German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs stated during a reception dedicated to the 100th anniversary of establishment of First Democratic Republic of Georgia.
According to Maas, the bridge will be founded on values, democracy, legal statehood, respect of national minorities and peaceful coexistence with neighbours. He also touched upon importance of visa-liberalization.
“Visa-liberalization has key importance to bring people closer and become introduced with each other. I believe in younger generation. I am working on a new policy toward eastern partners. This policy does not mean that any country of Eastern Partnership has to block the bridge for tough neighbour,” Maas claimed.
German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs also reiterated support of the European Union to Georgia’s territorial integrity.
