Heavy snowfall cuts off access to 12 villages in Sachkhere municipality

Heavy snowfall has rendered 12 villages in Sachkhere municipality inaccessible, including Nigvzara, Korbouli, Speti, Shomakheti, Mokhva, Tskhomareti, Bakhioti, Tskhami, Durevi, Chalovani, Lichi, and Ghodora.

Snow accumulation in these areas ranges from 50 to 120 centimetres. Heavy machinery has been deployed to clear the roads.

Electricity has been cut off for 40 families, although potable water is being supplied.

The educational process has been suspended at 20 public schools, and the municipal government has also halted classes at kindergartens to prevent potential complications.
