Georgian Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili, his deputies and members of the working group summed up Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRG) reform.
The Minister remarked that the financing reform turned out successful, and after one year of its activation, co-financing on the part of patients reduced from 27 to 10%.
At the meeting, the Minister said that since the DRG reform launched until now, the state had financed more than 550,000 medical cases for over 395,000 citizens with approximately 840 million GEL.
DRG system, practiced globally, was activated in November 2022. The reform aims to increase accessibility to high-quality medical services, reduce co-financing and ensure efficiency and transparency in the healthcare system.
