Health Minister says Mzia Amaglobeli's health state not life-threatening
“What Mzia Amaglobeli’s health needs the most is to return to nutrition,” said Mikheil Sarjveladze, Georgian Health Minister.
According to the Minister, the hunger-striking journalist and founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti media outlets should stop the extreme form of protest, although her state is not life-threatening.
“I will repeat this advice again and again for her to hear,” Mikheil Sarjveladze stated.
Mzia Amaglobeli undergoes treatment at the Vivamed clinic for the 4th day. She was transferred to the medical institution from the 5th penitentiary facility in Rustavi town.
A medical group created by the Public Defender visited Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti, at the Vivamed clinic, on Friday.
Upon leaving the clinic, gastroenterologist Giorgi Gvilia stated that the medical team’s collective opinion is that Mzia Amaglobeli should continue treatment in the clinic.
On February 8, Vivamed Clinical Director Zurab Chkhaidze said that the hunger-striking journalist undergoes medical treatment based on the recommendations of the Consilium of physicians and “feels quite valiant.”
