Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze met with representatives of the Global Fund to discuss ongoing reforms and priority areas within the Georgian healthcare system.
According to the Ministry of Health, the conversation covered significant progress in controlling infectious diseases, including tuberculosis, HIV, and hepatitis, as well as future strategic plans. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening primary healthcare, expanding screening initiatives, and improving access to medical services nationwide.
The meeting underscored the importance of sustained collaboration with the Global Fund and highlighted the tangible results this partnership has yielded in advancing Georgia’s healthcare system.
Both parties expressed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation moving forward, working together to achieve sustainable improvements, especially in supporting vulnerable populations and bolstering public health efforts.
Lela Sulaberidze, Head of the Strategic Development and Analytics Department at the Ministry of Health, attended the meeting.
