Health Minister engages with Global Fund in Geneva

Georgia’s Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health, and Social Affairs, Mikheil Sarjveladze, met with representatives of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Geneva.

According to the Ministry of Health, during the meeting, Mikheil Sarjveladze emphasised ongoing reforms in the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and hepatitis C. The discussion focused on cooperation dynamics, recent achievements, and a mutual reaffirmation of the commitment to continue strengthening public health efforts.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the Global Fund representatives for their longstanding support of Georgia’s healthcare system, highlighting the importance of sustained international partnership.

Additionally, Mikheil Sarjveladze is participating in the 78th World Health Assembly, held on May 19-27 in Geneva, Switzerland. This year’s theme is “One World for Health.”

Revaz Lominadze, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, also attends the Assembly and participates in bilateral meetings alongside the Minister.
