HCoJ to hear from Supreme Court Judge nominees

The High Council of Justice (HCoJ) will hear from the Supreme Court Judge nominees to consider their candidacy to be submitted to the parliament for a further appointment following the selection process procedure based on the order of November 2, 2020.

HCoJ will hear from Levan Kokorashvili and Genady Makaridze on Tuesday. HCoJ selected nine candidates on June 19 of the total of nineteen Supreme Court judges. The terms of office of two judges expire on July 1.

Earlier, the opposition, NGOs, EU and the United States criticized the process of selection of the Supreme Court justices.
