For the first time in Georgia’s history, the Youth World Snowboard Championship will take place in Gudauri on April 6-7.
Under the auspices of the International Ski Federation (FIS), the event will feature participation from 18 leading countries, including Switzerland, Australia, Canada, and others. A total of 80 athletes under the age of 21 will compete.
Representatives from the International Ski Federation (FIS), including competition director Peter Krogell and technical delegate Riccardo Chiminazzo, will attend the event to oversee organizational aspects.
This marks Georgia’s inaugural hosting of the Youth World Snowboard Championship. The successful World Cup snowboard cross event in Gudauri on February 3-4 put Georgia in the spotlight on the global sports stage. Gudauri has been selected once again to host the international level competition, which fully meets all standards in terms of infrastructure and organization.
The Youth World Snowboard Championship was first held in Italy in 1997, with subsequent hosts including Spain, France, Germany, Austria, and others.
