Gudauri to host Snowboard Cross World Cup
Gudauri ski resort of Georgia will host Snowboard Cross World Cup on March 8-9, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported.
Athletes from 21 countries will participate in the international sports competition, which is held with the support of the Georgian government and Mountain Trails Agency of the Economy Ministry.
“Holding such a high-rank international competition will portray Georgia’s potential globally, will increase popularity of our mountain-ski resorts, make them more attractive for local and international tourists that will contribute to tourism development,” said MTA Director Irakli Burchuladze.
Georgia will host its third World Cup in the 2024-2025 winter season. Snowboard Cross World Cup will be covered by the international media and live-broadcast on Eurosport.
International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has included Georgia and its resorts – namely, Gudauri and Bakuriani – on its permanent calendar following Georgia’s having successfully hosted various international sports tournaments.
