GPB journalists brief colleagues on Constructive Journalism
The Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) journalists trained in a constructive approach to journalism at the Aarhus University in Denmark shared gained knowledge and practices with their colleagues in the Moambe newsroom.
Moambe Journalist Keti Chokheli presented the Constructive Journalism approach, explaining the importance of a constructive role that media can play.
GPB management attended the interactive presentation. Having outlined plans for the future, GPB Director General Tinatin Berdzenishvili stressed the Broadcaster stands close to the constructive journalist values. “This is a completely new approach, and I believe we are on the right track,” she said.
For several months now, GPB First Channel has been introducing a constructive approach to journalism, a well-established standard of news coverage for the leading European countries.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) assists GPB in the introduction of Constructive Journalism, which is a European news coverage model.
