Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) on Wednesday hosted the students and the heads of the Defence Institution Building School.
Students are enrolled in the defence and security programme to prepare for national-level activities in times of crisis or conflict.
During the discussion, GPB Director General Tinatin Berdzenishvili emphasised the Public Broadcaster’s role in wartime and the importance of trustworthiness.
“We discussed the vision, goal, and primary duties of the Public Broadcaster, as well as the journalist’s responsibilities. They raised intriguing questions regarding the role of the media. I believe we had a really fascinating debate. I think the public sector, including Public Broadcaster, plays an essential role in preventing disinformation and fake news in our society,” she asserted.
