Gov't to introduce compulsory civil liability insurance for vehicle owners
The Georgian government plans to introduce compulsory civil liability insurance for vehicle owners in Georgia.
According to the government action plan for 2024, as Georgia’s vehicle population rises, so do road traffic accidents.
Among the road traffic victims are economically active citizens, including young adults, children, and the elderly.
“The implementation of this sort of obligatory insurance would contribute to the development of an insurance culture in the state, as well as the awareness of people and the industry in this respect.
Furthermore, under the Association Agreement between the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community, and its Member States, Georgia is required to align its legislation with EU legislation,” according to the action plan.
