Gov't initiates amnesty project for individual residences constructed without documentation on privately owned land lots

A Government meeting was held today under the chairmanship of the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. The Members of the Cabinet discussed nine agenda topics.

According to Government Administration,  the head of Government instructed the Minister of Justice to design an amnesty project to apply to individual residences built without construction documentation on land lots owned by individuals.

During the discussion on this amendment, it was pointed out that, as a result of this decision, the practice of illegal home-building will be eliminated, on one hand, and citizens owning individual homes in villages or cities without construction documentation issued for them will no longer be required to go through the complicated and costly procedure of legalization.

The amnesty will apply to about a million citizens.

The project will be presented shortly by Rati Bregadze at the Government’s meeting.
