Government to gift WWII veterans GEL 1 000

Georgian government will gift WWII veterans GEL 1 000, while families who lost their members in the war GEL 500, Tbilisi City Hall announced.

Beneficiaries will get the support payments to their bank accounts.

“Tbilisi City Hall provided financial aid to 84 veterans of the Second World War and 46 family members of the war victims on the occasion of May 9,” City Hall said.

Victory Day, marked on May 9, commemorates the victory over Nazi Germany in 1945.
