The Georgian government has submitted a legislative proposal to the parliament to abolish the National Security Council, the Government Administration reported.
According to the Government Administration, the government will assume the Council’s duties.
“Based on the proposed initiative, the National Security Council will be abolished on September 1, 2025, and the government will assume its duties in line with the parliamentary rule model.
If approved by Parliament, the relevant amendments will be made in the Law on Rules for Planning and Coordination of National Security Policy,” it said, adding the government would set up a special liquidation commission.
