Goga Gulordava elected as Chairman of ComCom

Members of the Georgian National Communications Commission (ComCom) elected Goga Gulordava as its Chairman for a three-year term during elections held on January 29, 2026.

Gulordava succeeded Kakha Bekauri, whose term had recently expired.

According to the Communications Commission, in accordance with legislation, the election was conducted by secret ballot, with all members supporting Gulordava’s candidacy. He brings 26 years of professional experience to the role.

“Before his appointment at the Communications Commission, he served as a financial monitor and auditor at the TeleImedi television company for two years. From 2020 to 2025, he was an advisor to the General Director of the Georgian State Electrosystem, later becoming the Director of Internal Audit within the same organisation. Between 2016 and 2020, Gulordava was a member of the Parliament of Georgia, and from 2013 to 2016, he served as the Governor of Tsalenjikha Municipality.

A qualified lawyer, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University between 1995 and 2000. Over the years, Gulordava has completed training courses in customs and tax legislation, public procurement, financial accounting, and auditing, in Georgia as well as abroad, including in the United States and Germany. Additionally, he has passed the qualification exam for prosecutors,” the Communications Commission’s statement reads.

As a reminder, in December 2025, the Parliament of Georgia unanimously approved Gulordava’s appointment as a member of the Communications Commission, with 77 votes in favour.
