GOC releases statement in connection with Family Purity Day on May 17
The Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC) released a statement on the activities scheduled for May 17, Family Purity Day.
According to the GOC, a church service will be conducted at the Kashueti Church at 2 p.m., followed by a solemn procession towards the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral.
“Leaders of churches were given the blessing of the Patriarchal locum tenens Shio Mujiri of the Georgian Orthodox Church, to join the procession of prayer together with their parishioners,” reads the statement.
Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, declared May 17 as Family Purity Day in 2014.
