“One year ago, when the MEGOBARI Act was initiated, I said that it would not be adopted, and it was not. The House Chamber passed the MEGOBARI Act in a different context but with a similar name. Tamar Chergoleishvili understood that, but she will not admit that I was right,” said Aleksandre Rakviashvili, a member of the Girchi party.

Rakviashvili published screenshots from Chergoleishvili’s comments regarding the MEGOBARI Act.

“One year ago, when the MEGOBARI Act was initiated, I said that it would not be adopted, and it was not. It remained an initiative. The House Chamber passed the MEGOBARI Act in a different context but with a similar name. Tamar Chergoleishvili does not know this. She understood now, but I guarantee that she will not admit that I was right. But nobody knows what will happen. I will publish these screenshots. She might admit her mistake for the first time,” he wrote.

The U.S. House of Representatives has reviewed and passed the Mobilizing and Enhancing Georgia’s Options for Building Accountability, Resilience, and Independence Act or the MEGOBARI Act. The bill was supported by 349 congressmen – 168 Republicans and 181 Democrats. Another 42 congressmen voted against it, and 42 abstained.
