Girchi’s Aleksandre Rakviashvili: Nika Gvaramia is in dire straits, claiming Girchi, GD, and UNM are in cahoots to attack him
“Nika Gvaramia is in such dire straits that he is trying to claim we, Georgian Dream, and the United National Movement are joined at the hip and launching a coordinated attack against him,” declared Aleksandre Rakviashvili, one of the leaders of the Girchi party.
According to Rakviashvili, Gvaramia is notorious for fabricating claims.
“Maybe we really have managed to unite the entire political spectrum against Gvaramia, but his primary problem is that he lacks the nerve to reveal where he got 40 million GEL. Unable to answer this straightforward question, he leaps from one distraction to another. He now finds himself in a downright comical position, making hysterical statements.
Frankly, it is a good thing that the few supporters he might still have left will finally realise they were backing a fraud. His own filings submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) prove he spent over 10 million GEL. That is precisely why he dodges any debate on the topic. We offered him a debate as recently as yesterday. Nika Melia was at least brave enough to accept; it ended badly for him, but Gvaramia lacks even that courage.
As for the protests, Gvaramia seems to have a problem with his calendar. They invented this entire narrative from thin air, claiming we were meeting Bidzina Ivanishvili while crackdowns were taking place during the demonstrations. Gvaramia is well known for telling outright lies. Documentation proves that he spent over 10 million GEL and received fictitious transfers. In this country, spending 40 million GEL without Bidzina Ivanishvili’s sign-off is impossible.
This claim that we, the UNM, and the Georgian Dream are fighting Gvaramia together borders on schizophrenia. It looks so thoroughly absurd that I think it speaks volumes about Gvaramia’s current state of mind,” Rakviashvili concluded.
