The opposition Girchi-More Freedom party joined the pre-election campaign. It nominated Gurgia regional organization members and Ozurgeti single-mandate candidate on Saturday. Leader of the party Zurab Japaridze attended the presentation.
Zurab Japaridze said the October 2 elections would be the first test for the party. He wished his party youngsters success in the upcoming polls.
The party members said they would struggle for freedom in the same way as Guria pheasants fought in 1905 when they signed Bakhvi Manifest, a document submitted to the Caucasus governor listing their demands.
“I believe we should preserve the freedom our ancestors brought to the date, and we should strengthen love for freedom in this country,” said Zura Kutidze, Ozurgeti single-mandate candidate.
