Giorgi Margvelashvili: Our goal is clear - we must maintain our country's independence and create a free country
We must maintain our country’s independence and create a country in which free citizens will attain achievements for the future generations, as it was done by our ancestors did, – President Giorgi Margvelashvili said in his speech at Freedom Square in Tbilisi.
The President thanked representatives of Georgia’s friendly countries. “Today I congratulate our friends and thank them for being with us and supporting our country in this difficult situation. Georgia has never hosted such high rank delegations and we are sure that it is the precondition of the victories that will lead us to NATO and EU membership, which is our strategic goal. I congratulate this day to the Prime Minister, the Government and the ruling party, I congratulate all opposition parties and public associations, as exactly this diversity creates democracy.
I also want to congratulate mass media on this day, because democracy cannot exist without free media. I congratulate every citizen of Georgia on this important day. From now on, we will move to the new hundred years and will pass it with the same principles and values . Our goal is clear – we must maintain our country’s independence and create a free country, where free citizens will develop their diverse talents, which will enhance our homeland and will attain achievements for future generations as our ancestors did it for the humanity. Today’s sustainability clearly indicates that our country is on the road to victory. God bless you and all Georgia,” President said.
