Giorgi Gakharia: Traitors can't escape responsibility for heaviest decision against national interests

“After the rigged elections, the Georgian Dream crowned the adoption of a series of anti-constitutional decisions with an official change in the country’s Western course,” Giorgi Gakharia, chairman of the “Gakharia – for Georgia” party, wrote on his Facebook page.

He continued: “It is clear that Bidzina Ivanishvili is behind this treacherous step but everyone should understand that no person involved in this betrayal can escape responsibility for this extremely difficult decision contrary to national interests,” Giorgi Gakharia added.

Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced a decision not to place the issue of opening accession negotiations with the EU on the agenda until the end of 2028. “We will also reject any budgetary grants from the EU until that time. By the end of 2028, Georgia will be economically ready to initiate negotiations for EU membership in 2030.”
