“I once again express my condolences to Archil Tatunashvili’s family. Their suffer is too familiar for me, because exactly a year and 10 months ago my son was shot dead by the enemy. Now, this family is in a similar situation. They hardly received the tortured body of their son only 26 days later. If murderers cannot be punished, no one can hide from the God. They will be punished, “- said Otkhozoria’s mother.

30 year-old Georgian citizen Giga Otkhozoria was killed near occupation line in Khurcha village on May 19, 2016.

Archil Tatunashvili’s body was handed over to the Georgian side at Ergneti checkpoint on March 20. The examination of Tatunashvili’s body was conducted on March 20-21 at Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau. “According to preliminary data, there are multiple injuries on his body , indicating the trace of torture”, – reads the statement, released by the Center EMPATHY, which was involved in the examination of Archil Tatunashvili’s body at the National Forensics Bureau.

On February 22, 2018, representatives of the occupied Tskhinvali region illegally detained the citizens of Georgia: Archil Tatunashvili, Levan Kutashvili and Ioseb Pavliashvili. Tatunashvili died in unknown conditions on February 23.

Archil Tatunashvili will be buried at Kanda cemetery on Saturday, March 24 with military honor.
