German President: Germany supports Georgia on its European path

“Germany supports Georgia on its European path, which includes the freedom of the media and civil society,” said German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in a telephone conversation with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili.

According to the German Embassy in Georgia, Frank-Walter Steinmeier spoke to Salome Zourabichvili about the current situation in Georgia.

“I am grateful for your clear and strong position in support of freedom and democracy. The population of Georgia chose the path of Europe. Germany supports Georgia on its European path, which includes the freedom of the media and civil society,” said Steinmeier.
