German Foreign Ministry: Germany to continue to support Georgia on EU and NATO integration path

The main message of Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will be that Germany will continue to support Georgia on its EU and NATO integration path and carry out necessary reforms, said the German Foreign Ministry regarding the Federal Minister’s Tbilisi visit.

“German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in Tbilisi last evening. She will have a tight schedule of meetings with representatives of the government, political parties and civic society. Besides, the Minister will speak to students about Georgia’s European future. Her main message will be: With great efforts, Germany will continue to support Georgia to bring the country closer to the European Union and NATO and to carry out the necessary reforms,” the Ministry said.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is paying her first official visit to Georgia. German FM met representatives of non-governmental organizations and the civil sector. She will meet President Salome Zourabichvili and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. The Minister also plans to visit the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) in Odzisi village.
