GeoStat: Inflation calculated using EU methodology reaches 4.9% in November
Since 2022, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) has been publishing a new indicator: the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP).
According to GeoStat, using this methodology, inflation in November 2025 stood at 4.9%, which is 0.1 percentage point higher than the 4.8% figure calculated using the national methodology.
Breaking down individual components, the EU HICP methodology indicates the following percentage changes compared to the same period in 2024: Food and non-alcoholic beverages – 9.2%; Alcoholic beverages and tobacco – 4.2%; Clothing and footwear – -0.1%; Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other heating sources – 0.4%; Furniture, household goods, decoration, and home maintenance and repair – -1.0%; Healthcare – 8.1%; Transport – 0.3%; Communication – -2.6%; Recreation, entertainment, and culture – -0.4%; Education – 2.2%; Hotels, cafes, and restaurants – 6.3%; and miscellaneous goods and services – 8.0%.
