Georgia’s PM: European ambassadors must cease ‘ambassadors of hatred’ conduct
“European ambassadors cannot present themselves before Georgian society as ambassadors of hatred,” Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
According to the Head of Government, this process must stop.
“I do not understand why European ambassadors and the European bureaucracy are acting in this way. They are directly confirming what many have been warning about for years. In reality, today, in the eyes of the Georgian people, European bureaucracy is associated with radicalism, violence, and a disregard for democracy; these negative developments are what we are witnessing from European institutions. This not only damages the image and reputation of European bureaucracy but also adversely affects the European Union’s standing in our society. This process must stop.
For this, ambassadors must behave, above all, with integrity and in accordance with the Vienna Convention, refraining from inflaming radicalism and hatred within our society. European ambassadors must not present themselves to Georgian society as ambassadors of hatred. Today, that is indeed the case.
A significant number of ambassadors present themselves to Georgian society as ambassadors of hatred. This is a deeply regrettable reality and reflects poorly on the European Union’s image in Georgia. This process must stop,” the Prime Minister declared.
