The minimum subsistence level (minimum level of income of a natural person) went up in January 2023 compared to December 2022, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.
The minimum subsistence level for working-age males amounted to GEL 253.5 in December. It increased by GEL 3.4 in January to GEL 256.9.
The minimum subsistence level of an average customer grew by GEL 3 and amounted to GEL 227.5.
GeoStat calculates the subsistence level based on the minimum food basket, consisting of 40 different products, including bread, cereals, meat, dairy products, vegetables, and confectionery.
