Georgia's minimum subsistence level goes down

The minimum subsistence level (minimum level of income of a natural person) went down in December of 2022 compared to November, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.

The minimum subsistence level for working-age males amounted to GEL 255.1 in November. It decreased by GEL 1.6 in December and made GEL 253.5.

The minimum subsistence level of an average customer decreased by GEL 1.5 and amounted to GEL 224.5.

GeoStat calculates the subsistence level based on the minimum food basket, consisting of 40 different products, including bread, cereals, meat, dairy products, vegetables, and confectionery.
