Georgia’s Cyber Security Bureau participates in U.S. cyber exercise

At the invitation of the U.S. Georgia National Guard, representatives from the Cyber Security Bureau of Georgia’s Ministry of Defence, took part in the Cyber Dawg cyber exercise.

The exercise was hosted at the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Centre and aimed to bolster the security of critical infrastructure through a realistic simulation of a cyber crisis.

Participants included a range of military and civilian agencies from the USA, as well as partner nations.

According to the scenario, the defence teams’ task was to safeguard the IT infrastructure by identifying and responding to cyber incidents swiftly and effectively.

The Ministry of Defence reported that the team comprising representatives of the Cyber Security Bureau achieved first place in the exercise, having detected the highest number of cyber incidents.

“The event was conducted as part of the ongoing cooperation between Georgia and the United States’ Georgia State National Guard. This collaboration, alongside efforts to strengthen other areas of the Georgian Defence Forces, significantly enhances the Ministry of Defence’s cyber capabilities,” the Ministry noted.
