Georgian wrestler Iakob Kajaia reaches finals at Tokyo Olympics

Georgian Greco-Roman heavyweight wrestler Iakob Kajaia reached the finals after defeating Chilean Greco-Roman wrestler Yasmani Acosta Fernándezin in the semifinals of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Iakob Kajaia beat Russian Sergei Semenov in the quarterfinals.

In the final match, Georgian Kajaia will wrestle against Cuban Mijain Lopez Nunez on August 2. Nunez won 2-0 against Turkey’s Riza Kayaalp in the semifinals.

The Georgian delegation at the Tokyo Olympics has won five medals so far.
