Georgian wines were showcased in Tokyo with the support of the Georgian National Wine Agency and SAKURA Japan Women’s Wine Awards international competition.

The event featured two main components: a presentation and tasting session of Georgian wines, as well as a master class focused on pairing these exquisite wines with traditional Japanese cuisine.

Ana Godabrelidze, Chair of the Tasting Commission of the National Wine Agency, and Tamta Kvelaidze from the Agency’s Marketing and PR Department spearheaded the event.

Teimuraz Lezhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Japan was in attendance.

The SAKURA Japan Women’s Wine Awards competition has entered its 11th year. The Agency noted that Georgia’s participation is expected to enhance the visibility and popularity of Georgian wines in both the Japanese market and the broader Southeast Asia region.
