Georgian President: Death of Pope Francis big loss for entire Christendom 

“Together with world leaders, I attended the funeral of Pope Francis. His death is a big loss for the entire Christendom,” wrote Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Facebook.

The Georgian official delegation attended the funeral service for Pope Francis together with representatives of world governments.

The Georgian delegation, led by President Mikheil Kavelashvili, included Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Head of the Presidential Administration Ketevan Kvinikadze, the Head of the Zugdidi and Tsaishi Dioceses, Chair of the External Relations Department of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Gerasime, as well as Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze, Rector of the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary and deputy head of the Sioni Cathedral.

US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron and other world leaders were in attendance.

Pope Francis passed away on April 21.
