Georgian President attends first day of figure skating team competition at Winter Olympics

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, First Lady Tamar Bagrationi and the Georgian delegation members attended the first day of the figure skating team competition at the Winter Olympic Games and supported the Georgian athletes.

Luka Berulava and Anastasia Metelkina, Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin and Anastasia Gubanova competed on the first day.

President Kavelashvili met President of Poland Karol Nawrocki, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and President of the European Olympic Committee Spyros Capralos.

The Georgian President will attend the Olympic flame lighting ceremony at San Siro Stadium in Milan. The XXV Olympic Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo will close on February 22.

Eight athletes represent the Georgian national team at the 2026 Games. Six will compete in figure skating, while two will take to the slopes in alpine skiing.
