Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, being on a working visit in Bucharest, Romania, discussed the situation in the region and the upcoming NATO summit during the meeting with Foreign Minister of Poland Zbigniew Rau.
Georgian FM said Poland was a strategic partner of Georgia. “Georgia will not cope with the facing challenges alone. Solidarity and involvement of strategic partners in the process is crucial,” Zalkaliani claimed.
According to Georgian Foreign Minister, his Polish counterpart confirmed that Poland would continue to support Georgia on its European and Euro-Atlantic integration path.
FM underlined that Georgia counted on being considered under the context of open-door policy at the forthcoming NATO summit.
Foreign Minister of Poland welcomed signing of a compromise agreement by the ruling team and one part of the opposition parties in Georgia. Zbigniew Rau said Poland wanted Georgia to be a strong and developed partner in the region.
“We welcome good news from Tbilisi. The reached agreement confirms that Georgia is a stable and democratic country, which upholds democratic values,” Zbigniew Rau stated.
Romania’s capital Bucharest is hosting the trilateral meeting of foreign ministers of Turkey, Poland, and Romania. This year, Ukrainian and Georgian foreign ministers also participate in one of the panels of the event.
