Georgian FM deems crucial Poland's support for Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration

Georgia’s Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, thanked his Polish counterpart, Zbigniew Rau, for visiting the country “at this very difficult, critically important time.”

As Ilia Darchiashvili said at the joint briefing, this visit will considerably benefit bilateral relations between the two countries.

“We are bound together not only by deep historical ties and long friendship traditions but also by common interests and aspirations. Georgians will always remember Poland’s generous assistance during our country’s most challenging time in recent history. We must not forget Georgia’s great friend, President Lech Kaczynski’s powerful support in his address to Georgia.

I would underscore how appreciative we are of Poland’s consistent support for our country’s European and Euro-Atlantic ambitions. Even now, Poland is playing an outstanding role in implementing our foreign policy aims. The Minister’s visit to Georgia will deepen this cooperation and partnership even more,” the Minister stated.

He called Georgia-Poland cooperation multidimensional.

“I would like to emphasize that Poland’s support for our European and Euro-Atlantic integration is critical, and we are grateful to have Poland as such a strong friend,” Ilia Darchiashvili said.
