Polish FM arrives in Tbilisi

Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau has arrived in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi. Deputy Foreign Minister Teimuraz Janjalia welcomed him at Tbilisi International Airport.

“Considering Georgia’s foreign priorities, Zbigniew Rau’s visit and Poland’s backing are paramount for Georgia,” Janjalia asserted.

He went on to say that the Georgian side would inform the Polish FM of the nation’s strategic direction – Georgia’s integration into the European Union and NATO, as well as the dire situation in the occupied territory of Georgia.

As part of the visit, Rau will meet with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, and Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili. He will also lay a wreath at the memorial of heroes who died for the territorial integrity of Georgia, the country’s MFA added.
