Georgian police arrest two foreign nationals wanted under Interpol Red Notices

Officers from the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) have arrested two Turkish nationals sought internationally under Interpol Red Notices, according to an official statement issued by the ministry.

The ministry confirmed that the suspects were being hunted via Interpol Red Notices at the request of Turkish law enforcement authorities in connection with various categories of criminal offences.

“Following investigative operations, law enforcement officers apprehended the wanted individuals at separate times in Batumi.

Extradition proceedings prescribed by law are currently underway against both detainees,” the statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs reads.
