Georgian PM welcomes European Commission’s examining EU membership application
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili welcomed the EU Council’s decision to ask the European Commission to examine the applications for the EU membership submitted by Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
“Welcome the Council’s decision to ask the EC to examine the applications for the EU membership submitted by Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. This new chapter in our relations motivates us to accelerate our reform agenda. We are grateful for this important decision,” PM tweeted.
European Commission will present an opinion on EU membership applications submitted by Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova.
Georgia and Moldova submitted formal applications for EU membership on March 3. The expedited move followed the suit of Ukraine, which has been in a war against Russian aggression against the country since February 24.
