Georgian PM meets Amir of Qatar

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, as part of his participation in the Qatar Economic Forum.

The parties discussed the diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two countries, namely the issue of deepening Georgia’s trade and economic relations with the State of Qatar, the key priorities on the economic diplomacy agenda.

Irakli Garibashvili emphasized the important high-level exchange visits between the two countries across a variety of directions which, over the past few years, have had a positive impact in terms of bringing Georgia and the State of Qatar closer together and intensifying their cooperation.

The parties expressed commitment to developing their close and friendly ties in every direction, including political, trade and economic, tourism, agricultural, educational, cultural, and other fields.

The Prime Minister thanked the Amir of Qatar for inviting him to the forum and, in turn, extended an invitation to visit Georgia.
