Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, together with Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani, and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, on Sunday, laid a wreath at the Memorial of Cadets, fallen in Kojori-Tabakhmela battles near the country’s capital Tbilisi against the Red Army in 1921.
As today marks the 103rd anniversary of the Soviet occupation of Georgia, the national flags fly at half-staff over administrative buildings and Georgia’s diplomatic missions abroad.
February 25 has been established by the Parliament of Georgia as Soviet Occupation Day.
