Georgian PM attends Georgian State Chamber Choir concert in Rome

Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, accompanied by members of the government, attended a concert by the Georgian State Chamber Choir at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, held in honour of the Vatican’s anniversary.

According to the press service of the Prime Minister’s Office of Georgia, the concert featured Georgian hymns, folk songs, and choral works by Georgian composers, alongside compositions by Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia. Yano Alibegashvili performed the Patriarch’s Ave Maria with the choir. Composer Zviad Bolkvadze and Lotbar Giorgi Donadze also participated in the performance.

The event was organised with the support of Georgia’s Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Georgian Embassy in the Vatican.

Since 1300, Rome has celebrated the Vatican Jubilee every 25 years.
