Georgian parliamentary delegation visits Israeli port city of Ashdod
The delegation from the Georgian Parliament, along with Davit Gabaidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, visited the Israeli city of Ashdod, which shares a twinning relationship with Batumi.
During their visit, the delegation, including the parliamentary friendship group with Israel, held discussions with Yehiel Lasri, the mayor of Ashdod. The meeting featured addresses by Givi Mikanadze and David Bitani, the heads of the respective friendship groups.
The discussion focused on acknowledging the long-standing friendship that has existed between the two nations over the centuries. The participants explored opportunities for advancing and strengthening their relations. Additionally, they talked about the possibility of establishing twinning relationships between Gurjaani and Sighnaghi and Israeli towns. David Bitan, the chairman of the Israel-Georgia friendship group, expressed his willingness to support this initiative.
As part of their visit, the delegation also toured the Ashdod port and engaged in discussions with the port’s administration members.
