Georgian Parliament to send humanitarian aid for Turkey earthquake victims
Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Wednesday said the Georgian Parliament would launch a charity campaign to send aid to people affected by the Turkey earthquake, killing over 10,000 people, including three Georgian citizens.
Papuashvili called on the MPs to partake in the campaign and noted the amount of sum withheld from the lawmakers’ paycheck for the absence [in the parliament sessions] without a good reason in December would go to the charity campaign.
The Speaker added that a special bank account was opened in the Parliament for the donations.
