Georgian Parliament holds video conference on election legislation

The Georgian lawmakers held a video conference on election legislation this afternoon.

Chairman of Parliament Archil Talakvadze and MPs of the ruling team with participation of representatives of different political parties, independent MPs, non-governmental organizations and international partners discussed proposed changes to be made into Election Code and recommendations provided by OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

The proposed changes, based on OSCE/ ODIHR, include issues of election campaign, financing of political parties, relations with media during the election campaigning period and second round of elections.

The Georgian parliament is planned to discuss the legislative package after completion of the state of emergency in the country.
