Georgian MPs meet Turkiye’s parliamentary delegation in US
Georgian MPs met members of Turkey’s parliamentary delegation within the framework of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly spring session held on May 22-26 in Dayton, Ohio State of the US.
The Georgian delegation is led by Givi Mikanadze, while Turkiey’s delegation is chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
According to the Georgian parliament, the sides engaged in talks over challenges in the Black Sea region and the Georgia-Turkiye strategic partnership.
Givi Mikanadze stressed that bilateral and multilateral meetings should continue since they are crucial for regional stability and to enhance inter-parliamentary diplomacy.
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu reconfirmed support for Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration aspirations.
The European Integration Committee Chair, Levan Makhashvili and First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Mariam Lashkhi who serve as Georgia’s delegation members in the NATO PA attended the meeting.
