Georgian MFA condemns drone attack in Nakhichevan, injuring several civilians

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia condemns the recent drone attack in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, which left several civilians injured, the Georgian Foreign Ministry stated.

In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that any action violating international law and aimed at escalating regional tensions is unacceptable.

“Considering the strong friendship and strategic partnership between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia expresses solidarity with fraternal Azerbaijan in this difficult situation,” the statement read.

Azerbaijani media reported that Iranian drones struck the airport in the city of Nakhichevan, injuring two people. Another drone reportedly flew over the village of Shekarabad.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev described the incident as a terrorist act by Iran and stressed that those responsible must be held accountable.
