Georgian Justice Minister deems Polish doctor's incident 'unheard-of behaviour'
Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze on Monday said Polish doctor’s behaviour to sneak Mikheil Saakashvili’s sample was “completely incompatible with both ethical and medical-legal norms and was incomprehensible.”
“We remained faithful to the promise we made,” the Minister said, “but on the other side, unfortunately, we saw completely unheard-of behaviour.”
According to Bregadze, the relevant authority will make a decision on launching a probe into the case, if necessary.
The Special Penitentiary Service last Friday released a statement and video footage showing a Polish doctor “trying to sneak out the paper-wrapped sample taken from the jailed ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili in his shoes.”
